March 27th, 2019 by Pastor SolleyPs 127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
KJV
Had a wonderful time babysitting grandchildren yesterday. Children are truly a heritage from the Lord. That being said and that being true I often wonder why so many professing Christian parents refuse to treat them as such? They will take great pains to give them all that the world has to offer, cell phones, PC, latest styles, get them into every worldly activity that they can, but they never give them Jesus. Church is an afterthought, things such as VBS or church camp take too much time away from worldly things. They give them everything and everyone except church and Jesus. Then so many wonder why the church looses young people. The church never had them, parents threw their heritage to the world. We need to have a burden for our young people, we need to give them what they need most, who they need most.
