Rom 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Because we are the children of God by the new birth, because God is our father through Jesus Christ, we now have an inheritance. I will not leave my children much, there will be no earthly treasures for them after I am gone. I hope and pray the few things I do leave them will not compare to the father I was to them. With God it is different, we have been given something, we have something we are waiting for, we have an inheritance. It will be realized after we leave this world and it will be worth whatever we have endured while here in the flesh. I have heaven waiting for me, I have a meeting with Jesus face to face waiting for me, I have an eternal mansion waiting for me. I will not leave my children much when I leave this world, but there is much waiting for me because God is my Father.
