2 Kings 7:1-3 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
KJV
I am reminded of death each day when I open the local paper and look at obituaries. The life of an individual is summed up in just a few words and it amounts to one waiting until they die. If that sounds morbid, it is. But why just sit and wait until one dies? Why not do something for Jesus with your life, why not do something that will bring rewards in heaven and not just a few paragraphs in a local paper? I am not sure what my obituary will read, I will not write the one to appear in the paper, but I know what I want it to read, “He loved Jesus and served Him”. That will be enough if it is true. Are you doing something for Jesus with your life?
