1 John 4:19-21
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
Why do you love God? Is it because He has done so much for you, or because He has protected you in trouble, or healed your broken body, why do you love God? It is in fact because He first loved you. No person can know God, come to God, be forgiven by God or receive the blessings of God without the love of God being bestowed upon them. And think of the fact that He first loved us! When we were unlovable, when we rejected Him and His Son, when we walked in the darkest sin God loved us. Loved us enough to send His Son into the world to die for us, the shed His blood for us and then to live for us. With that in mind answer this question; do you love Him? If you said yes then what are you doing to show that love to others and even to God? He did much to show His love for you, what are you doing to show your love for Him.
