Song 2:15-17 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
KJV
The Bible speaks here of a fox like animal that would borrow under the wall of the vineyard, or get in through small cracks in the wall and eat away at the vines destroying the grapes and ruining the harvest. The spiritual application is that we must watch the little things that will enter into our lives and eat away at us spiritually, ruining our ability to bear fruit for the Lord. Those would be things unseen by most people, things that most people would think harmless, but they can eat away and ruin the harvest. Perhaps bitterness that we hold against one we think has wronged us. Perhaps music that we listen to, TV shows that we like, that site on the internet that no one else knows we look at, hidden things that are unnoticed by others just like the foxes that the Bible speaks of. If they are not take care of, if they are not put out of our lives they will ruin the harvest. Are you bearing fruit for the Lord? If not perhaps there are some little foxes that you have let in.
