Eph 6:12-18 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
KJV
I have listened to many messages over the years on the Christian armor and in many of them the message ends with verse seventeen. I think at times the reason is that we find five pieces of armor in verses fourteen through seventeen and if you include verse eighteen that leaves you with six, six bring the number of man. But I would include verse eighteen saying that we are men and women in need of prayer more than anything else we are given if we are going to have victory in our battle with Satan. Prayer however is often the first thing we neglect and I have no idea why that is. Today I need to talk to God, need to hear from God more than at any other time. Why? Because of all the years in the battle, because the enemy has not grown weaker, because the world has not become better, because prayer is what makes all the other pieces work. Don’t neglect what we need the most, prayer.
