2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
KJV
I wonder at times how many things go unseen each day. We see the trials of life, the circumstances that surround us, the troubles of this world, but there are more unseen things than things that are seen. The young man serving with Elisha could only see the enemy about, could only see the trouble, could not see what the Lord was doing until Elisha prayed that his eyes be opened. Perhaps we would do better in the face of trials if we stopped to consider the unseen hand upon us, the unseen angels ministering to us, if we just stopped to consider what we cannot see with our eyes. Elisha saw the protection of God the entire time, but not with his physical eyes, with eyes of faith. May we look through the troubles that often surround us with eyes of faith and see what God is doing.
