Ps 89:19-20 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

David was a very special man, chosen of God, anointed by God, used in the service of God, David was a very special man. But David was no more special than you or me. We also have been chosen by God. Chosen to receive the free gift of salvation, although many refuse to repent and receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior they still have been chose. It is the will of God according to the Bible for all men and women to be saved. Chosen then to be used in His service. It is the will of God that all saved individuals present themselves as a living sacrifice to God to be used in His service. Just like salvation many will refuse to do that, still all are anointed with the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation and He gives the power and direction to live for and serve Jesus Christ. There are times when we read of the Old Testament saints and wonder at how special they were. Yet we are just as special to God as they were.
