Mark 12:41-44 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
KJV
This is one of the greatest examples of thanksgiving in the Bible as this woman cast all that she had into the offering, she gave all that she had to God. What did she have to be thankful for? Her husband was dead, the text implies she had no children taking care of her, she was poor, she was a beggar, she had next to nothing. Yet she was thankful to God, so thankful that she gave all that she had. What are you willing to give God today in way of thanksgiving? Do you thank Him for treasures, do you thank Him for good things, for good times, or do you thank God always as this woman did?
