November 8th, 2018 by Pastor Solley2 Tim 2:1-4 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
KJV
Today we have a reserve military as well as an active military. There is no such thing in God’s army, everyone is active all of the time. In the reserves one gives one weekend a month and two weeks a year to duty unless they called into action, then they become full time. In God’s army a soldier is full time all the time. We do not just give God the weekends, not just two weeks a year, we are full time active duty all of the time. The reason the New Testament church is in the condition it is today is because many live as a soldier of God as if they are in the reserves. Lets give God the weekends, and just one day there, and live the rest of the week with our Christian life in reserve. If we must serve, just a week or two a year, nothing to take away from our regular lives. Many professing Christians live just like that my friend. Are you active duty, full time all the time, or are you in the reserves?
