Hos 14:1-4
14 O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
KJV
What a beautiful statement concerning the love, mercy, and grace of Almighty God, He is one who “Loves freely” without end and exception. The picture of Israel in Hosea is one of backsliding, moving away from God. Still God would forgive and love them. How thankful we should be for the unending love of God in light of our own shortcomings, in light of our own sin. Please understand, sin carries a price tag and we will suffer the consequences of sin in our life, but God will forgive and restore those who wonder away from Him. Again, this is not freedom to sin, but it is a great blessing to know that when we do stray that there is forgiveness for all who repent and return to Jesus.
