And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
3 And wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
KJV
Why is it that we are so willing to turn in what God has for us for what the world has? As soon as Israel was faced with even the smallest of difficulty they wanted to turn back to Egypt. Over and over this took place and what did Egypt have for them? Only death and hardship. So many times we do the same thing in our Christian lives when we face even the smallest of trials. I understand that any trial I am in is a big one, but still, they are small when one considers the power of God. Why not just stay faithful, why not just trust in the Lord? We wonder that about Israel, they would wonder the same about us.
