And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
Ps 104:34
My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord.
Ps 143:5
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
1 Tim 4:15
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
I think of those quiet times of meditation and wonder where they have gone to. Many people today cannot stand quiet at all, they have to have some sort of clatter going on at all time. The TV must be on, music must be on, they must be on the smart phone on face book, they cannot stand any quiet time at all. I think this one of the reasons Satan has been able to push God out of society, out of many lives and even out of the church house, people have no desire to just sit and listen, to meditate upon the things of God. We do live busy lives today but all of us can find some quiet time for God if we want to. How about just turning off the electronics for an hour, just spend some time with God, and see what a difference that will make in our lives. David found those times very sweet.
