6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying,
8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.Jesus suffered on the cross more than any man has ever suffered in this world. Along with the pin of the Roman cross was the weight of the sin of the world. No one can possibly imagine what Jesus went through on that cross for you and me. Along with the pain and agony was the humiliation of the cross. This included the mocking of the multitude, the thieves who were crucified beside Him, the soldiers, Pilate and Herod. The Bible tells us they laughed Him to scorn. How that must have hurt our Lord as well. Those that He died for mocked Him to the end. Yet Jesus endured. Don’t make Him endure mocking today my friend. We know so much is aimed at mocking Jesus by the world. His name is no more than a curse word to most, those who have no idea who He is say “O my God” all the time, the lost shake their fist at Him, tv and movies make fun of His holy name all the time. Let us not join them. How could we be mocking Him? By ignoring Him most of the time, by neglecting His house and His Word, by living like those who reject Him, by not serving Him. I could go on. Stop and consider what you will do today, how you will act, the places you will go. Let us not mock Jesus as others do.
