My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
KJV
Why is obedience to the Word of God such an important part of the Christian’s life? How else is anyone going to know that my salvation in Christ is real unless they see me living it? No man can see into my heart, there is no halo above my head, how else can my salvation in Christ be seen, how can it be known apart from obedience to His Word. We, as the Bible says in the book of James, are saved by faith and that faith needs to be seen in our works. I talk to many people who try and tell me they are saved, but there is no fruit that can be found in their lives that points to real salvation. How can you love Jesus and ignore His Word, how can you love Jesus and ignore His house, how can you love Jesus and that love not be seen? It is important that we walk in obedience to His Word.
