Eph 1:1-4
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
KJV
This is another one of these phrases, spiritual blessings, found only one time in the Bible. I find so many professing Christians is such distress and discouragement today it is alarming. Troubles with health, troubles with family, troubles with finances, some facing decisions, people in distress. Some wonder where the blessings of God are or where they have gone. One reason people seem to be without blessings is that they are not spiritual. I did not say they do not have spiritual life, but they are not spiritual. They spend almost no time in the Bible, little time in prayer, the house of God is visited almost reluctantly, no fellowship with those of like precious faith, they are not spiritual. How can they realize spiritual blessings in their lives if they themselves are not spiritual. God imparts spiritual life at the moment of salvation, but God will not force us to be spiritual. How much time do you spend in His Word? How much time in prayer? What is your attitude about the services of the local church? Do you desire the fellowship of other believers? Your answer to those questions will tell you why or why not you walk in spiritual blessings.
