James 4:13-17
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
KJV
Another thing that keeps people from Christ is the idea that they always have tomorrow, that they always have time. Some people it seems think that they will live forever. I have shared the gospel with people on their death bed, days or hours to live, and they have told me they need time to think about receiving the Lord. Many people think that they will live forever it seems or at least that they always have more time. Even Christians think like that. For example, all reading this devotional know that they will die one day, but none think it will be today or even tomorrow. But the Bible clearly tells us that live is a vapor, here for a time and then it vanishes away. The truth is that none of us know how long that time is. Not only is it important that one receive the Lord today, but also that we live for and serve the Lord today. This may be your last day in this world, it may be mine, we need to be found doing what the Lord would have us do.
