Job 19:23-27
23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
KJV
The words of Job were written down, they have been printed in a book and are there to be a help to us today. Job lost most all that was dear to him, children, possessions, even friends, yet he remained faithful through it all. Don’t think him unfeeling or that he was not heart broken, crushed by the weight of his loss. Yet he remained faithful. How? The answer is in verse 25 above. Job knew that his redeemer was alive and that He would stand one day upon the earth. This is the earliest reference to the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His Second Coming in the Bible, Job being the oldest book in the Bible. If Job could draw such strength and encouragement from the living, coming Lord, should not we be able to as well? Christian, we may be in a storm, the skies may be dark, the wind blowing, but Jesus is coming. We need to allow the truth of the empty tomb carry us through the storms of life.
