Ex 12:1-4
12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

A lamb for a house, no exceptions were to be made. Israel or Egypt, a lamb for a house. If the blood of that innocent lamb was not applied to the door of that house the death angel would take the firstborn, no exceptions were to be made. This does not promote the false doctrine of whole house salvation but it does point to the need of each and every one to be covered by the blood. Some have asked me over the years that if an Egyptian would have applied the blood to his house if it would have been spared, if the death angel would have passed over? If the right sacrifice would have been brought, if the lamb without blemish would have been killed and the blood applied, if that were done in faith, then I believe that death angel would have passed over. A better question would be if any of Israel may have ignored the warning and ignored the command to be covered by the blood? The Bible does not tell us that any did but it would not surprise me to find out many ignored the warning and command of God. Why? Because of their actions in the wilderness. One thing I do know is that to ignore the Lamb of God will bring death and an eternity in hell, that is clear to see in the Bible. We need to be covered by the blood.
