Daily Devotions
March 12th, 2018 by Pastor SolleyEph 5:15-17
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
KJV
Every time we turn the clocks, daylight savings time or standard time, I think of time. Daylight savings time is supposed to give one more time I guess, but it never changes the number of hours in a day, it never adds months or days to a year. I tend to think that it is to give those who do not like to get up in the morning the allusion that they have more time in a day, but it is an allusion. That brings me to the spiritual point of the devotional. We live in a world where the clock is winding down, we need to understand that. I am not saying the rapture will be tomorrow, or this year, or trying to set a date for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. But I know that we are nearer that time than we were just a year ago, even a week ago, time is winding down. Christian don’t live under the allusion that we have plenty of time, don’t live in daylight savings time. We may not have anymore time to talk to our loved ones about Jesus, to talk to our friends about Jesus, time is winding down. We may not have anymore time to begin to live for and serve Jesus the way we know we should, time is winding down. We may not have anymore time to pray as we should, time is winding down. Yes daylight savings time started yesterday, but there are still only twenty four hours in a day.
