Ps 62:1-6
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
KJV
What happens when we place ourselves in the Bible, when the Bible becomes real to us? Our expectation is then from the Lord. (Verse 5) Let me point out that this does not mean we deserve anything from God, that God is then obligated to us, or that we can demand from God. Rather it means God has our heart and we are willing to wait on the Lord and trust fully in Him. In my hour of trouble I am not looking to the government to help me out, looking for the arm of the flesh, not trying to draw up some inner strength that is in me, I am looking to the Lord. My expectation is from Him. You see I know that my prayers are heard, that my God does all things well, and that He holds me in His capable hands. With that being true, and it is, I can trust that all things will work together for my good and His glory. My expectation is from Him, is yours?
