11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
KJV
Yesterday we spoke of looking at the unseen hand and help that is with us as Christians. One reason that is so important is because of the enemy we face. He as well is unseen although we see his tracks on society like we see footprints in the new fallen snow. Our enemy is a very powerful one, capable of bringing down the strongest of Christians and to be able to stand against him we need to be constantly standing in the Lord. I am sure David never thought he would fall as he did, that Peter never even imagined he would deny the Lord and if the strongest of Christians can fall then what of me, what of you? So we need fasten our eyes on the one we cannot see, the one who dwells within, the one who will arm us for battle and then defend us as well. As one reads of the armor of the Christian one needs be careful to also put it on. For the remainder of the week we will look at how we are made ready for a fight.
