34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

A fourth area that will aid in moving into the type of life that Jesus wants for us in service. (Matt 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.) Not God serving us as so many people seem to think is God’s duty, but us serving God which is our duty. When one begins to give time and energy, when one begins to serve God it moves us into a closer relationship with God. We realize that we in reality do nothing on our own, nothing in our own power, we need depend fully on the Lord. As we live in that truth in the area of service it moves us into that truth in all other areas of life. I can’t control tomorrow, not even today, so what do I do? Do I worry, do I fret, what do I do? I learn to trust because I learned that in serving. As a preacher I know I can’t get message thought, can’t put things down on paper, can’t deliver a message on my own. Yes, I learned to outline, I can read the Bible, I can talk. But all of that is empty words until and unless I look to the Lord and the Holy Spirit for help and power. I know I can do noting on my own as far as preaching is concerned. If I can trust Him in preaching I can trust Him in everything. We learn to trust when we begin to serve.
