2 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.
2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,
3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

Revival demands we look to the right source. No matter how much we want revival it can never come from within us, it must come from God. That is why Nehemiah, before he gave shared his burden with the king, went before God once again in prayer. I want revival, revival in my life, in my family, in our church, I want revival. But no matter how bad I want revival I cannot bring it, nor can the evangelist that is coming. Only God can bring revival. Am I willing then to put the time in prayer as Nehemiah did, am I willing to look to God and wait upon God as Nehemiah did? Nehemiah desperately wanted to go to Jerusalem but Nehemiah also needed God going before Him. Friends as we pray for revival in our lives, in our families, in our churches and in our land, look to God to bring it, look to God to do a work in your life. Nehemiah is about to put his prayers into action, he is about to go to Jerusalem, but he first went to God in prayer. Make sure your actions do not go before your prayers.
