11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
KJV
This is one of my favorite phrases in the Bible, “This same Jesus”. When Daniel was troubled by the enemy and faced the den of lions God sent an angel to shut the mouths of the lions. When Joseph was troubled by circumstances God sent an angel to tell him that Mary was with child of the Holy Ghost. When Peter was shut up in the prison waiting to be put to death God sent an angel to open the cell doors. Over and over we see God’s ministering spirits sent to the aid of His children. But think of this for a moment, or think of it often as I do, when we as Christians are taken out of this sin cursed world, when we are saved from the tribulation that is coming, it is Jesus who will come for us! It is not an angel coming to take us home, it is Jesus Himself, this same Jesus. What will He look like when we see Him? More on that tomorrow.
