11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
KJV
The term darkest before the dawn certainly applies to the rapture of the church. Often I think of this when I am hunting, out long before the dawn, sitting in the moonlight, then it gets darker just before the sun comes up. This world is being darkened by sin to a degree that most Christians could never imagine. Do we have hope? Not only do we have hope we have a blueprint to follow as given above. Notice what the Bible tells us in verse 12 above. We are to deny ungodliness. That is we are not to go along with the sin and degradation of the world, we are to stand up and deny it or condemn it. Far too often we as Christians keep silent when we should be speaking out. I don’t mean we climb up a light pole in the middle of town and scram that the world is going to end and God will judge all sinners. Both statements are true but that will do little good. But why can’t we take a stand against sin and speak out against sin when we are confronted with it? Not only can we, we should. I talked to one yesterday who just lost a job because of convictions and taking a stand. It may cost us something to speak out, but speaking out for Jesus in the right way is always worth it.
