Joel 2:28-31
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.
KJV
Here in the book of Joel the Bible speaks of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as a great and terrible day. What will be so terrible about the return of Jesus Christ. For the believer in Christ now it will not be terrible for we will be raptured before the tribulation period, but for those who are still lost in the darkness of sin it will be a most terrible day. The rapture of the church starts a seven year period of Divine judgment upon the inhabitants of this earth, the world system and Satan. There will be more death and destruction than this world ahs ever seen, more devastating than all the wars this world has seen combined, it will be a terrible time. That is why it is so important that the Christian be a witness for the Lord now, that is why we need to let our light shine brightly, that is why we need be active for the Lord. We do live at this moment in a terrible world, but it does not come close to what it will be after the rapture of the church. Be active for the Lord dear Christian.
