March 4th, 2010 by Pastor Solley1 Kings 19:19-2019 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
Have you ever notice what the people God has used in His service were doing when they were called by God? Most of them were busy. Elisha was plowing, Moses was tending a flock, , David was called out of the field where he was tending a flock, Gideon was busy at the winepress, Matthew was sitting at his tax desk, James, John, Peter and Andrew were mending their nets. Most were busy at something when God called them. Two thoughts here.
God has little use for lazy people. If one is lazy in worldly things they will be lazy in spiritual things. Also one must set aside the things of the world to serve God. Are you a busy person, are you willing to set some things aside to serve God. Many wonder why God does not speak to them. Perhaps the reason can be found when one looks within.
