Eph 5:14-17 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
KJV
Time is always well spent when we are pursuing the will of God in our lives. (Verse 17) Does that mean then all time must be spent in what we would think of as serving the Lord? No. For example, your family needs your time, your job needs your time, things need to be attended to around the house, there are many demands on time, and we even need time to rest and relax. Yesterday was a day spent in relaxation for me and my wife as we traveled to our daughter’s home and spent the day playing with grandchildren. What did we, what did I accomplish for the Lord outside of my Bible reading and prayer time? Very little, but it was still time well spent. No TV, no face book, just time with family. Not all is work even when we make well use of our time, we just need to be sure we waste the time that was given to us. We could have spent the day watching movies with the children, but instead we just played and enjoyed them and they enjoyed have all of our time devoted to them. Even time at rest and play is valuable time. Now today I need to be sure to make up for yesterday in getting things done that need to be done.
