38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Who or whom does God want to be saved? Some take the verses above and falsely interpret them to say that God has chosen only a certain few to be saved, that is not true. Who did the Father give to the Son? The Father gave all the world to the Son to be saved. (John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.) The Father would have all come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ for Jesus died for all. (2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.) But we also see that an individual must come to Jesus. (Verse 37 above.) Not everyone that Jesus died for will be saved, they must come in repentance to Christ. The proper interpretation of the verses above show us that all will stand before Jesus Christ one day in judgment, all will come to Him, but only those who came to Him for salvation will have everlasting life, those who rejected Him will come to Him for judgment. Who does God want to be saved? All.
