June 29th, 2017 by Pastor Solley1 John 2:15-16 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
KJV
It is only fitting that the Holy Spirit would use the apostle of love to tell us what not to love. No one loved deeper than John did, no one showed his love for Christ more than John did, and no one knew what not to love more than John did. There are many things in this world that are not evil, that is until they take Jesus Christ off the throne of our heart and stand in His place. All that is of the world needs to be looked at in this light, have I lifted it above the Lord, is it more important to me than Jesus is? For example, the smart phone, the PC, face book and the like, are they more important than Jesus is to you. All who take time to read this will say no, but take time to examine your life. How much time will you spend with the smart phone in your hand today, how much time on face book, how much time with your electronics? For many that will be hours and for those same ones they will spend next to no time with the Lord. They will not pray right, they will not read their Bible, they will not talk to others about Jesus, they will spend next to no time with Christ if any at all. Now, which has become most important to them, which has first place in their heart, which do they love? John says “Love not the world.”
