1 Tim 5:17-18 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
KJV
A former pastor of mine and a current missionary we support was with us in church yesterday morning. I met this man when I was 12 years old and that was 47 years ago. It is such a blessing to me to see one who has been faithful to the Lord over the years. There have been many trials and hardships for him along the way, some I know about, most I don’t. The one thing I know, he has remained faithful to His Lord, has kept the faith, and is still seeking to serve his savior. As believers in Christ and servants of the Lord we can also remain faithful over the years. I see so many fall by the wayside for one reason or another and it is discouraging. It is a great encouragement to see one who remains as steadfast as he was in the beginning. Are you going to be a discouragement or an encouragement to those brothers and sisters in Christ around you?
