Mark 10:14-16 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
KJV
We know what our Lord thinks of children as that can be seen in our verses for today. But how has God used them in the Bible, has God used children in His work and for His glory? Many, many times. Daniel and his three companions were but children when God began to use them in Babylon to save the nation of Israel. Samuel was a very young boy when God began to speak to him. The little Hebrew maid was little in years when she pointed the leper to the man of God and sent to that place of a miracle. It is not just the lad with the fishes and feeding of the multitude that God has used in His work, it is many throughout the Bible, many young people used in the service of the Lord. Why do we see so little of that today, young people wanting to be involved in God’s work? Is it because God ahs changed? God has not changed, but someone has, parents have changed. How many parents set an example of living for and serving the Lord for their young people to see? Think on this today, when your children look at you, who have they learned to serve?
