May 23rd, 2017 by Pastor Solley2 Tim 4:14-17 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

There are times when it is good to be alone, times when one needs to be by themselves to rest, meditate, and recharge. Then there are times when to be alone it a terrible thing. Paul was experiencing one of the latter in our text passage. Alexander had did much harm to Paul in trying to do harm to the cause of Christ and when Paul turned and looked for help there was none found that would stand with him. How many hundreds and hundreds of people had Paul been a help to? Yet not one of them would stand with Paul during that controversy with Alexander. How heartbreaking that must have been for that man of God. But there was one standing with Paul, one who had no forsaken him, one who would strengthen and help him, and one what would deliver him from the present trouble. Christian, we never, never stand alone when we stand with Jesus. Remember that when the enemy stands before you, one is standing with you.
