KJV
Here we find that one was delivered for justification. But who and delivered by whom? The who is Jesus Christ. (Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.) Now, who delivered Christ so that sinful man could be justified? Was it Rome, the ruling power of the day? Was it the Jewish council who rejected their Messiah? Was it each and every individual, including you and me) born in sin? Who delivered Jesus to the cross so man could be justified? None of the above. It was God the Father who delivered Jesus to the cross. (Isa 53:10-11 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.) And it was God the Son who gave His life willingly. (John 10:17-18 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.) Justification is not found in the Law, not in religion, not in works, justification is found in the Man Christ Jesus. When we have Christ within because we have repented from sin and turned to Him in faith, then we stand justified before God. Tomorrow more on that position of justification.
