5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.
6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

Why does an individual need to be justified? Because God is holy and man is not. That is the simple answer and one should never make complicated what God makes simple. We find that man is not pure in the sight of God, that man is far short of that and there is nothing we can do about our sinful condition. We can’t be good enough for God. (Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.) We are all unclean in God’s sight and there is no righteousness in man. In order then for man to be able to fellowship with God there must be justification, something must take place that would remove our sin and answer the holiness of God. What can that be? Let us try religion for a time. Israel walked in a religious way, they had the Law of Moses set before them, but they could not keep it. The Law served only to show them their shortcomings, only to reveal their sin. Many religions today sell justification, but their followers purchase damages goods. Can the Catholic Mass save? Can baptism save? Can communion save? Not according to the Bible. (Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. ; Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.) Religion with all its works is not the answer for it can never justify man. So now where do we look for justification? Let us now look within for that little bit of good we are all born with and see if that will help us. But wait, we find in the Bible that we are not born with that little bit of good. (Rom 3:10-18 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.) Religion is nor the answer, self worth is not the answer, how then can man be justified before God, is there an answer or is the situation hopeless? Tomorrow the answer.
