26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
KJV
This is the oldest reference to the resurrection of Christ and the resurrection of the believer in the Bible. Job knew by the indwelling presence of God in His life that one day His redeemer would be put to death and would rise again. Job also knew that one day he would die but that would not be the end of his existence, that he also would be resurrected and receive a new and glorified body. The older on gets the more they find themselves looking forward to that day, to the day that they will see their redeemer face to face, to the day they will stand with Him in glory. Will it be by the upper taker in the rapture, or by the undertaker in death? We are not sure, but one way or the other the born again believer knows that they will stand with Jesus one day. Is it a day that you long for because you are saved, or a day you dread because you are still lost in sin? Job longed for that day.
