April 5th, 2017 by Pastor SolleyHeb 2:1-4 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Another thing that makes salvation so great is the witness of that salvation. According to the Bible we have been given the Holy Spirit within who bears witness to our salvation in heaven by His sealing us into the body of Christ, and also within the believer. (Rom 8) But we also have the witness of a changed life and change of desires. Now we will always battle the flesh, but there are things that I know are wrong and I shouldn’t do, places I know I shouldn’t go, things I know I shouldn’t look at. There is no list written down, no signs along the way to keep out or don’t look, so how do I know not to do those things? It is the Holy Spirit of God within, the witness of my salvation. His Spirit convicts me when I set something wicked before my eyes, His Spirit convicts me when I am tempted to do wrong, think wrong, talk wrong, His Spirit convicts me when even my secret desires are wrong. I have a witness of salvation within, an agent of change. Isn’t salvation great!
