Ps 63:1-8 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
KJV
Here is another example of seeking God early. Note the illustration in verse one. I think of the many times I awake in the night and need a drink of water, or how each morning I walk to the kitchen to get a drink. I can get along without that drink in the night, I can put off that drink in the morning, but both make me feel so much better, so why deny myself? It is a good picture of seeking after God. Can we put it off, our seeking after God, can we get by without seeking after God? Many do my friend, even many professing believers in Christ will go about life never seeking after God. They seek the pleasures of life, they seek after money, they crave time on face book and the smart phone, but they never seek after God. Do they get by? Sure they do, for a time, but the times comes when they need the Lord and they don’t know how to find Him. Why? They have never sought after the Lord. Why not try seeking God first, try seeking God to begin your day, seek Him throughout the day, and see if that doesn’t open to you the power and glory of the Lord. (Verse 2)
