March 17th, 2017 by Pastor SolleyRom 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
KJV
I was talking with an elderly individual yesterday who has spent much of her life in a church that believes one can lose salvation after they have repented and trusted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Just as dangerous as the lie of Calvinism which falsely teaches that not everyone can be saved is the lie that teaches salvation can be lost. What sin is it that will take salvation from the redeemed? None of the things named in the above verses can do it, not according to the Bible. Jesus said that no man can pluck the believer out of His hand. In Jude we find that we do not keep ourselves saved, He does. In Ephesians we find the Holy Spirit is our earnest of salvation. That dear one I visited lies thinking that they may have done something that would cause Jesus to remove His love, His presence, His salvation, but that is not what the Bible teaches. I pray for the peace of God enters that ones life, something they have been lacking because of false teaching. Even if Satan loses a soul to Jesus Christ he still works against that one to take away peace. Don’t let Satan rob you of your peace today.
