2 Tim 2:1-4 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
KJV
What can get the Christian through the trials and struggles of life, what can get one through the entanglements of life? The grace of Jesus Christ. (Verse 1) But before that can take place, before we can be strong in the grace of Christ, one must make that grace available to them. That means of course salvation, but there is more than just being saved that makes one strong in Christ. One must then be willing to spend time with the Lord Jesus Christ, time in his Word, time in prayer, time in the things of the Lord. Most professing Christians will spend more time on the smart phone each day doing nothing than they do with the Lord. I don’t mean making important calls, or talking with friends or family, but doing nothing on the phone. Looking at face book pages, looking at you tube videos, checking on the weather in Alaska, doing nothing. Then when they feel they lack the presence of God they wonder why. When they seem to be overcome by every trial and trouble of life they wonder why. That grace is there my friend, grace to life us above every trial, but we need to make ourselves available to it, available to the Lord.
