As I get older it seems like we lose more than an hour when day light savings time begins, it seems as if we lose two or three. The Bible has a great deal to say about time and most of it concerns using time wisely and not wasting time. Now I know time was not wasted at 2:00AM on Sunday morning when the clocks were turned, there are still twenty four hours in a day, but that hour was lost, wasn’t it? Yes I know it was then made up on Sunday, or so they say. But when we waste real time it can never be found again. God wants us to wise stewards of our time, redeeming the time, making wise use of it. What time we waste today can never be recovered and people will waste a lot of time today. How many hours will be spent watching the TV, on the smart phone, on face book, and so on and so forth, how much time wasted doing nothing. Would that time be better spent in prayer, in the Bile, in telling others about Christ, in visiting the sick and those shut in? Yes there are far better uses for our time. Day light savings time was adopted to give people more day light in the evenings so more things could be done. Don’t waste the hour we have been given, use it wisely for the Lord.
