Rom 8:18-21 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
KJV
The sureness of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is found in this three fold witness, the Bible, Jesus himself, and the angel. Jesus is coming again and praise God for that truth. If all that the Christian life had to offer was found in this world, if there was no hope in His return, why then even become a Christian? The signs of the times point to His soon return, the lukewarm church points to His return, all of creation waits for His return, so the Christian should rejoice in it as well. As I look at the new fallen snow outside this morning I am reminded of a world where sin will be done away with, where Jesus Christ will rule and reign. The first step toward that is the first part of His Second Coming which we will be looking at on Sunday morning, the rapture of the church. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the trumpet would sound today!
