Not only are the dangerous times we live in a sign of the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ but we also see several tings named in 2 Tim 2:3 that I would point out this morning. “Men shall be lovers of their own selves”. This began in the 60’s and is full blown today, people in love with themselves, the “Me generation”. Have you ever seen a time when what matters to most is self and nothing else? Noting is seen as wrong in the minds of most people today if they want to do it, they are in love with self. Abortion is OK because a woman has personal rights that give her license to murder. The way to stop drug addiction is to give more drugs to the addict, make illegal drugs legal because they want to take drugs. Whatever an individual wants to do is OK because people are in love with themselves. I also see a reference to homosexuality here, a sin that is an abomination before God and one that will kill society. What do we see today? A movement on the part of homosexuals aimed at making that lifestyle acceptable to everyone. In our day men have become lovers of their own selves, that is a sign of the last days. Yet what, or who does the Bible tell us to love with all our heart, soul, mind and strength? Certainly not ourselves.
