Verse 18 speaks of the sufferings of this present time. Indeed there are a lot of heartaches in this world. I was at a funeral on Monday, will be at another on Saturday, there are a lot of heartaches in this world. I visited in rest homes and hospitals this week, there are a lot of heartaches in this world. The Bible tells us that there are sufferings to endure in this present time. How do we get through? As we have been looking this week, we have one within to help in our times of need. (Rom 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.) This is the Holy Spirit of God, another comforter given to us and the one we need depend upon the most. There have been many times and will be many more I am sure when I don’t even know how to pray about something, other times when prayer seems to be blocked by tears and troubles. It is at those times when the Holy Spirit lifts us up before the Father, at those times He prays for us, at those times when we cannot hear the voice of God that His voice is heard on our behalf. Do you want a blessing today? Read and meditate upon Rom 8:26, let that sink deep into your heart and soul, think about all that the Holy Spirit does for you.
