Rom 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
KJV
This life is certainly one filled with many trials and troubles and the Christian is not exempt from those things. I will be at a funeral home this morning, a hospital room this afternoon, and a rest home sometime during the day. I will also visit some terminally ill in their homes today and tomorrow. This is a life that is filled with trials and troubles. Where does one turn to in time of need, where does one turn to for help in the dark and lonely hours of the night, where does one turn? That is a question that needs to be answered. The government cannot help us, there are times when doctors cannot help, medications seem to do no good, family can only do so much, where do we turn for the help we need? There is one we can turn to, one can help, one has the answers for all of our needs. In our text this morning we find the help available to the Christian and I want to look at Him and the help He brings this week. Understand I am not going to tell you not to go to doctors and hospitals, not to take medications, not to share things and spiritual friends, but I want to look at the only one who can be a help to us.
For today, understand dear one that you are not alone in your trials, in your time and times of trouble. Notice in verse 27 above that there is one that knows, there is one that understands, and that one is there to help and carry you through the trials of life. If you know Jesus Christ as your personal savior today you never need stand alone.
