What a wonderful place to stand, under no condemnation because we stand in Christ. I spoke yesterday about moving from a place of judgment, a place where a sentence has been passed, to a place of no condemnation. The only way to get there is to be moved by Jesus Christ when we repent and turn to Him as our personal savior, when we call upon the name of the Lord. I find in the Bible that all can do this, all will not, but all can because Jesus Christ died for all and the Holy Spirit calls all to salvation. This week I want to spend our time in this chapter, looking at those who stand apart from condemnation, who are under no condemnation, and the blessings that come because of that. Today we see the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in that one. (Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.) The new Charismatic as well as the old time Pentecostal teach that one must wait for the Holy Spirit after they turn to Christ for salvation, that the Spirit is given as a second blessing at a later time. That is not what the Bible teaches for the born again believer in Christ of this present age. I find that I am not saved, no one is born again apart from the Holy Spirit. He is in you Christian, dwells in you, and this began the moment you were born again. Because He is in you He then can bring to pass the changes that take place in your life after salvation if you yield to Him. This is the next step in the Christian life after being saved, yielding to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to shape and mold our lives. (Rom 8:10-14 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.) Tomorrow more on the Spirit filled and led life.
