Zech 4:8-9
8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.It is very difficult to find someplace in the Bible where God wanted His servant to start something but not finish. Something that God wanted left undone. I know I can’t find any. Zerubbabel had started to rebuild the temple but had grown weary in the task, worn out. He was at the place where he wanted to stop. But God said what his hand started his had was to finish.
(Verse 9) We often get weary in the Christian life, but try and fins a place where God says it is OK to quit. What our hand starts it is to finish.
Now what was Zerubbabel to do? Read the entire chapter and you will see he was just to allow the Spirit of God to give him the strength for the task at hand and to work through him.
Christian be given to the Spirit of God more and you will find more power for the work and walk of Jesus Christ. Pray more, read more, meditate more on the things of God. Less TV, less world, more Jesus and you will find the spiritual strength you need to press on.
