Isa 1:18-19 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
KJV
I am reminded of this verses as I think of the winter conditions that have fallen upon our little part of the world. What a blessing we have in the changing seasons. As I grow older I like the cold of winter less and less, but it seems I appreciate the beauty of winter more and more. I will be moving snow out of driveways in a few hours and all the while I will be thinking of how beautiful the new fallen snow is. That along with the physical labor will warm me. It took much physical labor for Jesus Christ to endure the cross, to stand up to the physical beatings, the scourging, and then the cross. But how it does warm the heart of God today to look at the redeemed sinner standing before Him white as snow. How did we get that way? Did we work for it, strive for it, grow into our salvation? None of those, we believed the gospel, repented of sin, and received God’s free pardon through His dear Son and the shed blood on the cross. How beautiful we appear in the Son of God, just like a new fallen snow.
