Neh 2:11-13 So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days.
12 And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.
13 And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

The most important thing to the revival of Nehemiah’s day was his personal relationship with God. Notice that he told no man what God had placed in his heart. (Verse 12) As a Pastor I can assure you I am praying for church revival, for community revival, for national revival. But none of those things will happen, at least not because of my prayers, unless there is revival in my heart, unless there is personal revival, unless I am right with God. We can lift up our eyes and look at the condition of our nation, of our communities, of our churches and out families and shake our heads wondering what is wrong with people today. But not until we look within, not until we turn the light of truth upon our own lives, not until we are revived within, not until then will anything take place without. One man can begin a revival, Nehemiah did, but not until that man is revived himself, not until that man is standing right where God wants him to stand. Can you be that man?
